Duct tape is actually different from duck tape, although both names have come to refer to the latter.

Duct tape is metallic and used for HVAC.

Duck tape is what we are more familiar with and was designed specifically to maintain adhesion even if it became wet, hence the "duck" nickname.

Sloppy Seconds: Any double stack blow back derivative. If it ain't broke, send it off to China and make gazillions of them.

Manual Labor: All you need is your hand. Just pump.

Old Wood: If it can give you splinters or can club a moose to death.

Little vessels are called pots in britain. I remember watching home improvement shows where they would ask for a pot of paint.

I've always been partial to "gaffer" tape myself. I have some New Zealand family that uses that term.

Gaffers tape is totally different from Duct or Duck tape. I used to work in TV and I love that stuff. I keep a roll of it in every tool box I have and in the workshop.

Gaffer tape is used by Gaffers in film and TV. It's generally a matte black finish. The glue is much better thank Duct / Duck tape and comes off clean. It's "just right" for a lot of applications...like, it's perfect for taping two AK-47 magazines together.

It costs a lot more, but it's worth it.
