Ooh! how could I have forgotten the "shotgun" (i mean what pump player hasn't been asked about their shotgun, really)

Also, don't forget to ask someone "does it hurt when you get hit?" before the first game.
Shoot first, check armband tape later.

Ah the joys of having an old 98C. Have a couple of mods on it but it still looks like a walkon gun. One of these days I'll get down to the local indoor field and play a few games.

I've seen this happen kind of in reverse.

Group of us went to a regular field that gets a lot of wide-ranging traffic. Lot of first-timers, and a lot of higher-end players. Refs split a crowd of us into two largish groups and I noticed a tiny group of phantom-toters who were wearing just basic stuff, jeans, BDUs, etc., but who looked all wrong. They stood wrong, acted wrong, everything was wrong. And by 'wrong' I mean, 'looked like they knew their business.'

Some of the other folk in our large group (none of my crew) started laughing at them and saying things like, "What are those, pumps? They don't even have hoppers! Boy, are they going to get spanked."

I politely suggested, shortly before the whistle, that probably that little group shouldn't be underestimated, even if they did have 'goofy old guns.'

Turns out I was right, and those three or four pumpers did a lot of damage to the very folk who were laughing at them.

Thought it was hilarious, and said as much to them after the game.
"Dude. I'm pretty sure he's behind one of those bunkers over there."

My Feedback:

Have you seen That Paintball Channel?

I actually do this a couple of times throughout a day of play. I set aside the usual gear and pick up my old school Spyder. I leave my pod pack off and just play with a hopper of paint. It's challenging but it helps me polish my game.

I played once in casual clothes and sandals with my nelspot, I did okay... still havent tried it with my shop coveralls and rental mask yet, would love to pull that on my own teammates actually.

I went to defcon paintball in Toronto and used the rental equipment as it costs 100$ for another bag for the plane ride.

I'm new to the pump scene but I've spent enough time behind a tippmann to know what's up. I went in with a group of regulars and let the ref choose my side.

I made sure to look like an idiot. When go3 happened I walked off the field with 7 tags. Smiles on my face.
