Finally putting back up my "Wall"

I finally decided I didn't like my guns all over the house and on the floor.

So, I'm putting back up a wall. Going to run out of room here, but that's ok. Maybe I'll use it as a way of getting rid of some stuff. If it doesn't make the wall, I'll have to sell it. Etc.

I'm going to build a shelf and other storage units to fill up the gaps, etc. So it's going to look pretty put together once I'm done. But for now, this is all it is. Got tired, and too dark to see above the garage to get more.

Taken with my camera phone, so bear with the quality.

I'll get everything up. See what I want, what I don't, sell the in between, and start reworking the collection with what I want to get a hold of.

Well your deposit is ready now, and possibly the whole payment, in the next week on the blank spot I'd like to leave on your wall....

Another guy with pegboard... The guys at PbN said it was stupid >.< but now I feel justified with my decision... Organization wins out in the long run.

I'd have pegboard up if I wasn't renting and not wanting to put holes in my wall. once you get past a certain point, something is needed. and if the kids on pbn call something stupid, theres a good chance are your onto something effective, practical and not overly complex.

When you have a few guns, doing something else is fine. When you leave gun whoredom and achieve master pimp status.. well.. you need something else.

Now I used to keep them all in this crate that I called the ark. It was great, and had layer upon layer of blankets between them.

The problem was, when I needed a gun, it was usually on the bottom and moving 70 guns to get it just wasn't going to happen.

Of course your neighbors who don't know you that well, see a wall and then really think your nuts... So hiding them sometimes is a good idea if you care what people think.

Otherwise, if you have the room, this method truly serves its purpose.

hiding the wall?

now i think that is an idea....

a fake bookshelf that opens up to reveal a trove of paintball guns.... i think i might have to do that at the next house we buy. i would do it now, but 1) no space, 2) no money and 3) the house we are in now is for sell. <any one want a nice lil'house in chicago-area> sorry had to put that in.

Nice looking so far! How are you organizing your guns? Anything in particular, or just aesthetically pleasing?

I can't wait till I OWN a place so I can permanently affix pegboard and display my goodies too!
Greywolf had a great idea that uses pegboard on hinges, so the "wall" swings open like a really huge version of one of those poster racks. If he's around I'm sure he will be happy to fill you in on it. Looks nice, saves space, and doesn't have to display your full insanity to everyone who looks either.

AC- lots of folks here use pegboard! You aren't alone! JTurtle has a nice set up at his house. I have a picture where you can see it in the background somewhere. Nothing wrong with pegboard at all.

A gun wall... a gun wall. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire wall. What am I gonna do... with a gun wall?
Well I actually own *a* gun... several.. just no where the amount needed for a wall. But looking good bro!

I contend that organization is for the obsessive compulsive. What does this say about me?
