Zombie Apocalypse training and shiny guns!
Autocockers are not more accurate, I'm just more accurate when I shoot autocockers.

Also the laughs, I dont think ive ever played a game where I havent laughed at some point. Everytime I hit someone I chuckle and love to see their reaction with frustration. Some situations when its a fire-fight from every direction it gets intense and in the end I cant stop laughing about what happened or the day in general.

So so many memories and good times

When I made this thread I was kinda worried I would get some lame responses or it'd just be a really cliche topic. Now I'm just really thankful to see some awesome responses.

Keep the responses comin'

I play for the fun, the rush, the exercise, and I love messing around with the gear. But I think the #1 reason I play is that it reminds me of how we used to play when I was a kid: pick a game (army, capture the flag, whatever), pick up teams, instant camaraderie, super serious like the world depends on it, but everyone having a blast, and then you tell stories about it for hours/days/years afterward...

When I was a kid, my best friend and I were hiking in this national park... And we got into the military part of the park (in NC) by accident.

All of a sudden a bunch of army guys carrying paintball guns surrounded us! They were doing war games with paintball gear (this was the first time I had ever even heard of paintball, way back in the early 80's.)

We got back to the "normal" part of the park after that, and I always wanted to try paintball.

But, I never got around to it. Instead I traveled around the country riding BMX and competing.

After college, I worked so hard building my business and redoing homes, that I didn't have time for anything. Then about 8 years ago we built our dream house in the country on our families land. And one day I was riding my quad through our woods, and I thought... This would be the PERFECT place for paintball. And since us guys were always so busy, I figured if I scheduled games, and put them on for my friends, we could set aside a few hours on a Saturday morning and have some fun in the woods we were blessed to live in.

So I bought a gun for my father in law, and my brother in law got one, and I got one, and we got some friends involved. Pretty soon, we started naming our trails, and building up our base of players. And before long I started filming my games.

But, the goal has always been to have fun. And do some "guy" stuff in the woods. For years it was guys only, but when my daughters got old enough and I got tired of hearing all the women in our lives complain about how they "weren't invited" we opened it up to the ladies in our lives. And we have had a ton of women join us for the fun in the woods.

Everyone needs to do something to stay in shape, and paintball is GREAT exercise, plus I find myself eating better, and doing things to "get my body ready" for my next event. My kids joke that I am on my "paintball diet" when I pass on extra helping of food and run up the driveway to get the mail. (hey, don't laugh, my driveway is 1/4 of a mile long... up and back is a half a mile! enough to wind an old guy like me!)

The stories, and fun we have had is priceless, and the adrenalin rush is the closest I have found to national freestyle competitions. And I get to do it in my backyard! For FREE!
