Stainless Steel Freak inserts are back again from GoG

Looks like GoG has brought back the stainless inserts. Just saw this on my local shops Facebook page. I asked the shop owner about it and he said they will have them in Tuesday next week.

Yup, I think they have been making them since the start of the year. I have a 0.675 with 0.677/0.679/0.682 on the way.

I have not seen them with the GoG logo on them though, they all seem to still carry the SP branding.

I got the .677 and it has the Gog logo on it. Feyd...........I feel dirty.......

Bah to all of you who give your money to Gog or Smart Parts. Traitors and b*******, all of you!

I got my kit in October. Just the aluminum inserts.

I'm glad to see these come back for all the fanboys out there...but my personal gearbox will not support the litigious ilk or their offspring for that matter.

Alright gents.. lets not turn this into an all out assault on SP and their less than friendly business methodology.

Keep it civil... and lets talk merits of the availability of the freak inserts.

I picked up a few earlier this year and I felt the inside honed finish was not on par with the original SS inserts. Being Stainless though, I stuck them in the lathe and threw a little diamond polish at them. They eventually came in nice.

I'm a new owner of Freak inserts, but holy crow the stainless inserts seem really fragile compared to aluminum iFit inserts. Some of the rims were even dinged up in the package,

Not that it matters, but on a brand new 684 insert it looks like the tool chattered around inside the bore, too. Whatever. Paint's the biggest variable.

The 0.675 I bought last week had a few dings on one end, though I just received three more in the mail that look flawless.

The first-run eNMEy I received was a bit chewed up around the fittings, I have to wonder if they have a quality-control issue with employees during final assembly/packing.

I picked up a 677, 679 & 682 alum freak inserts a while back....work nicely!
