Drone mounted PB camera

So my buddy over at Paintball Jungle has been experimenting with using a video camera mounted on a flying remote/drone vehicle....the results ( after a few...mishaps...in the early stages) are starting to look pretty good. See for yourself...this may be one of the first videos of its class.

this is a fantastic setup. it is much more stable than i expected.

even more surprising is how much your friend trusts walk on players to not shoot it :p

Im not sure if its all walk-ons yet, or a more select group still. I do know that they where doing the early tests with refs/staff only for safety reasons...

The system seems to be rapidly improving - cant wait to where they go with it. I think D-Day could use a couple of these...

Skyline Nation up here has been doing test runs for their big weekend game coming up in July. Going to be pretty sweet!

That was nice. Not the first, but great to see further advances in the remote drone videoing. To join that with other videographers on the ground and even stationary cameras on the field could really add to the viewing pleasure of the game.

I was literally just thinking about this today. I wonder how good the footage will be on the "MeCam Quadcopter"

That really looks kinda cool.....but how long does the battery last, how much video can it store...soooooo many questions...but it sounds really freaking cool.

Not long, (10-15 minutes max) I have a friend who just got the AR Drone 2.0 and I was shocked when I saw what it could do. But, getting a heavy Contour or Go pro on one is over the weight limit...

You can get high end ones (around $700 that will hold cameras and such, but they cost so much...)

Certainly made my wheels start turning. I found an AR drone 1.o locally for $150.

Pretty cool!

Here is my favorite Video like this, the platform looks super stable and it can hold a camera and a payload.

Great perspective. I wonder if mic cords are small enough or long enough to have something like 20' long that it can dangle and hopefully pick up game sounds over the props.
