Armor is the key. Pad up like a pro so you can ignore the inevitable bonus balling. If you intend to return fire posthumously go for a point blank crotch shot. Either that or a throat shot. You'll get a response, believe me.

Hopefully involving getting walked off the field and asked not to return.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit I've shot back once. I was walking off with my gun in the air and had to walk past a group of 6 newer players on my way out. When I'm walking past (with bag on and gun in the air) one of them puts a couple shots into me from ~5ft away and says "are you out" while still pointing his gun at me. I pull off my barrel bag an shot a him twice at point blank. Then all 5 of his friends instantly proceed to light me up. Ended up getting over 20 welts from that.

On the positive side, it seems to have made the day for some of the new players. Heard them telling quite a few stories about it in the deadzone. And they all can say the "shot someone".

You had my sympathy until you shot back.

Worst weekend of reffing in my life... Overshooting, yelling, and confrontations galore. Luckily people on a small island realize that they're going to bump into that person one time or another and are quick to "ma bad bro" lol

Kinky...

Accountability does modify behavior. Playing mostly outlaw with friends helps me avoid most of these shens, that and a great bunch of players at CQB Toronto, when I can afford to splurge.

But... If I'm going to return fire like a zombie I'll make each shot count.

Anyhow, I got called over by a ref, for shooting people, even though I was, out. I explained what happened, and he did not really care, so I was like, ok, whatever, I'm wrong and I'll just bite my tongue. I left worn out, and disappointed. Shooting someone with their gun in the air, with their hands up, during a paintball team is just as bad as shooting a wounded guy (obviously apples and oranges, but still, if someone is going to shoot at paint me, I'm gonna shoot at them too). Anyhow, I'm leery about going back, this whole 'you determine' the point of surrender is asinine. I've been playing paintball for seven years, so I don't know if this is just a new thing to just not give a damn about your fellow man making it back to the staging area in pain.
Taking a few extra shots here and there when your out is 'part of the game' in my book.

And I'll even look the other way if I'm walking out through a heavy firefight, or on a tight speedball field.

But if anyone ever truly lit me up purposefully after the fact I would have words with them...

They are either;

A) Idiot who didn't CHECK THEIR TARGET!

B) Psychopathic Sadist (enjoys giving others pain without remorse or morality) that needs mental help.

C) Complete Squid.

The choice is theirs. But I will be hearing their statement and administering judgement.

And...

+1

Anyone that would do shoot someone intentionally in those areas, regardless of events, falls into category B.
