Bought some 'prior art' today.

Scored at the local pawnshop. A very good condition tippmann pro-lite with a 12 inch armson pro-series barrel.

Just felt like bragging ;-) I got it at a really nice price.

Pawn shops are the treasure trove of rare and old-school paintball markers. I've seen BE Poisons and Golden Eagles in shops back home for $15 before.

I've thought about going to pawnshops for paintball before, but their are too many to choose from. There's like 50 of them, and I've been to about 5, none of witch I saw anything paintball related. Although, they have lots and lots of guns.

Around here, we get shops that either have nothing, or have Spyders and Tippman 98's for three hundred bucks. Bah.

I have a feeling the ones around here would only have spyders and tippmans also but once i saw a really old really horrid .22 that they had found at a beach and i swear it wouldn't have shot. They wanted some ungodly amount for it and it wasn't anything special or ressurectable.

A local shop here has a Pro-Lite for $109. It's currently on sale for 40% off, but it's not in good enough shape to even fetch $65.

They won't deal unless they get approval from a District Manager, and the punk running the place says it makes little difference to them whether it sells or they write it off. I asked him why it'd be better to throw it into a dumpster rather than take my $45, and he couldn't answer.

Stay away from corporate Pawn Shops. The "Mom & Pop" operations (when not run by felons or scumbags) are far superior.

I think pawnshops are felon and scumbag prone. It might just be one of those things.
