Having a sponsor souring you up?

Does anyone find that having a decent sponsorship sours you up a little towards second hand gear, as well as paying full price for niche market items?

I typically carry one extra tube and give them 1 ball from it.

I'm an *** like that.

I suppose I can see the appeal of new and shiny... But if you find yourself burdened with all that 2nd-hand gear I'd be glad to relieve you of it, lol.

Certainly not a problem I have. A very small percentage of my collection was made after the year 2000. If anything, I'm sour towards the new stuff

True enough, and judging from my garage of ****, I'm in the same boat.
Just kinda feels like "Might as well buy it new" if I see anything second hand that I can buy new, even though it's not as cheap. Or if you need a replacement something, and you don't want to wait the two days for shipping. Hard to explain, I guess.

I'm the total opposite of that. I own 4 markers that are no longer made, two of which have dried up pools of replacement parts. I love em. I see new markers at the shop and they just don't have the same appeal of loud, heavy, rare stuff. Plus, south Texas never has been a hotbed of paintball, so while entry and mid-level spaceguns are everywhere at our fields, people have no idea what a vintage marker is when one pops up--great conversation starters.

Ummm new gear is still expensive. Used gear specially 1 year old slightly used are the best IMO

I didn't like being FORCED to use a sub-standard product because it was given to me by a sponsor.

Sponsorship is a double-edged sword. Yes, you get "FREE* stuff. No, you can't use what you really like personally.

I remember having to conceal my JT's from Vents, my Phantoms from Ross and Henry of Line SI, and then justifying having them when you get caught, plus, the other guys on the team being urinated because someone threatens to pull your sponsorship because of your action.
