| Now I'm all for bashing SP. It's BS, 99.99% of the time. However.... Suppose we have a taller gun, or a lighter gun, or a gun with a heavier reciprocating mass. Assume we can put a fulcrum of sorts at the crook of the grip frame, where the thumb holds it. Would the gun not, on the shot, have a significant rotation around that fulcrum, to make the barrel rise? This is the "kick" everyone talks about, that is more noticeable on older guns, lighter guns, taller guns, whatever. Suppose this rotation was sharp enough to ACTUALLY make the barrel move upward, so the majority of the friction between ball and barrel was on the bottom of the ball (due to the exaggerated normal force), creating a sort of reverse-flatline effect. Now, wouldn't a gun with less kick, or more linear kick (gun lower to the fulcrum), have less of a shift in the barrel, less normal force on the bottom of the ball, and therefore less topspin? It would actually have a flatter trajectory. 'Course, this is between something like an untuned Spyder with an overbored barrel, wasting a lot of energy, and kicking like a .40, a full inch and a half high over the fulcrum, as opposed to something like a Droid, tuned to perfection, low over the grip frame and not wasting gas. I dunno if it would be noticeable in a less dissimilar pair of guns, like oh, '08 Ego vs DLX, to keep price range, height, and balance similar. I think that while vise tests would be "standard", it could negate the likely event of muzzle rise on the shot, especially considering the very open-handed grip most players use when shooting a walkable trigger. Damn, I hate actually supporting this claim, but I feel like if it's a scientific possibility, someone has to say it. Just don't let Sean know.

| MCB Member | I haven't read the thread quite yet but... Maybe Smart Parts markers shoot farther cause of all the nice plastic shavings they leave in the marker from manufactoring?? The balls don't flatline; it's called a barrel break and it makes everything go funky... Edit: Started to read this thread. Wow, this is a bad one.

| I would make sense if heŽd be rooting for a nxt to shoot better than others, I see no point in him trying to lie to make the ancient 4x4 seem better. I believe that everyone shot liquid with those, so the hot shots made it seem like it shoots further. |

| Well while Sean was debating over this super, super, super dupper shocker. He's forgot that others are asking him about past and present legal issues....but it's easier to talk about something that is "pulled out of the air". If you haven't said thanks to cockerpunk....you should....He's been throwing daylight onto these vampires left and right...Nice to see them "smoking" once an awhile. Originally Posted by RealtorTommy When Sean gets done telling everyone how a shocker shoots further then any other marker in the world....He might show up here? Sean responded This is true. To answer the questions that were posed requires some research. I will work on it tomorrow.

| I don't mind the guy expressing his own opinion. That's fair game. But what I find incredibly sad is that fact that Smart Parts, a multi-million dollar company cannot spend some cash on a scientific test for the benefit of paintball. And it's not just Smart Parts. |
