I would call the Model 98 the most popular blowback marker.

I've never seen the video, and I'm not SP fan, but I do believe the SP1 is marketed towards Tippmann owners, who appreciate the milsim style look, which is less common with stacked tube variants.

who ever said that a traditional gun was "stacked tube"?

I'm betting that HP is right. The market SP is going for it the mil-sim market that Tippmann (for the most part) has.

pet peve: You don't need a space before a puntuation mark that concludes a sentence. Those just make it hard to read.

The SP-1 is a blowback? Didn't think it was.
Or did you mean SP referred to the M98 as a traditional blowback marker?

IMO there are many variants of a "traditional" marker. I feel it boils down to the operating platform. For instance, I separate cockers into these categories: "traditional" cockers (ie. mech, full backblock) and the "less traditional" halfblocked and turtled cockers.

I watched the video awhile ago and I laughed. At least Tippmann is still using pot metal instead of SP plastic crap......

I'm suprised that SP hasn't try to invent a self contained, air powered hopper and slap it on their markers yet. Then try to sue Tippmann's butt off for copyright infrigement......

The guts are all aluminum, it's just a fiberglass body. SP1s aren't brass eagle plastic. Closer to Glock trigger frames. really.

Honestly, I think that the SP1 only needs two improvements for the demographic its targeting: a more robust feed neck, and stainless screws (mine are rusting).

One of the markets SP is going after is the rental market. Since Tippmann's are probably the most used rental markers, it makes sense to compare them to them. I have to admit, owning about 150 98's (and needing more) that the prospect of a rental marker that is easier to clean is very appealing.
