i know i know , we all know that . but i think they are just down right dirty now .

on one of there videos they show how easy it is to clean the sp1 , vrse the tippy 98 ! . they call it a traditional blowback marker . a traditional marker is a stacked tube . the 98 isint made to be cleand fast . its made to work . unlike sp . they twist everything .

yeah 98's need to be cleaned alot, they have horrible upkeep thats why so many fields have them as rentals

I would call the Model 98 the most popular blowback marker.

I've never seen the video, and I'm not SP fan, but I do believe the SP1 is marketed towards Tippmann owners, who appreciate the milsim style look, which is less common with stacked tube variants.

who ever said that a traditional gun was "stacked tube"?

I'm betting that HP is right. The market SP is going for it the mil-sim market that Tippmann (for the most part) has.


pet peve: You don't need a space before a puntuation mark that concludes a sentence. Those just make it hard to read.

well spyders are what you see most . and 98s are pretty much everyware but most of the guns that kids get these days are walmart viewloaders . lol. my field rents out procarbines and ions . iv never seen so many ions at once and then all the tippys cream em . all these kids where from a church and it was there first time . the girls had the tippys and the guys had the pink ions lol . it was great

The SP-1 is a blowback? Didn't think it was.
Or did you mean SP referred to the M98 as a traditional blowback marker?

IMO there are many variants of a "traditional" marker. I feel it boils down to the operating platform. For instance, I separate cockers into these categories: "traditional" cockers (ie. mech, full backblock) and the "less traditional" halfblocked and turtled cockers.

I watched the video awhile ago and I laughed. At least Tippmann is still using pot metal instead of SP plastic crap......

I'm suprised that SP hasn't try to invent a self contained, air powered hopper and slap it on their markers yet. Then try to sue Tippmann's butt off for copyright infrigement......

The guts are all aluminum, it's just a fiberglass body. SP1s aren't brass eagle plastic. Closer to Glock trigger frames. really.

Honestly, I think that the SP1 only needs two improvements for the demographic its targeting: a more robust feed neck, and stainless screws (mine are rusting).

They already did the air-assist thing. If they could juuuuust get a patent broad enough...

One of the markets SP is going after is the rental market. Since Tippmann's are probably the most used rental markers, it makes sense to compare them to them. I have to admit, owning about 150 98's (and needing more) that the prospect of a rental marker that is easier to clean is very appealing.
