X Mas Dilemma

My wife's greatest joy at X Mas is surprising me with something I really want. I love shaking the box and then telling her what it is before I open it. I even resort to baiting her in to clues and reading her expression. Most year's I just tell her what I want and where to buy it so I know whats comming anyway, most often I order it.

This year I gave her some ideas, a couple of metalwoking tools, a sub woofer and some odds and ends PB stuff. Also told her about an E Blazer I put on layaway at PPS about a month ago. Told her she could put some money on it if she wanted.

Well, all my shoppings done and I was telling a friend last sat about this B *** Blazer I've on layaway. I started itching to have it. Told him I'm off on monday I'm going over there and pick that bad boy up and take it home.

I got there monday morning and tell Lori I've come for my baby. She looks at a little odd and says uhhhh your wife came in here and bought it a few weeks ago it ain't here.

I stood there speechless with my mouth open like an idiot. My first thought was oh my god!, I sure as hell didn't want her to know how much that thing cost! Then, oh my god!, it will break her heart if she finds out I know. My open mouth formed in to a huge grin I'm gettin a Blazer for X Mas!, Im gettin a Blazer for X Mas!

I'm not up to breaking her heart, so I stand in front of the mirror and practice my surprised look. I'm not a good actor. I hope I can pull it off. This sucks, normally I would be proud of myself for the find. But, some how I'm feelin' like the grinch that stole X Mas.

I just wish I could have seen the look on her face when Lori presented her with the bill. OH MY GOD I DIDN'T WANT HER TO KNOW HOW MUCH THAT THING COST!

Hey at least you know you're getting it!

I don't think you'll have to worry about the surprise look. If you really want it as much as you make it sound like you do, the excitement of opening it will cover up the surprise (or, allow her to interperate it as surprise).

Shouldn't be too hard to fake, your excitement will be enough as it is. Just don't get excited before you open it

Quick lock it somewhere safe!

We almost always run into what we are going to recive (Or at least one of the things) without acctully looking for it! Since it is so close to the holiday you could just try to completly forget about it (If it was a longer time it might find some way to sneak into your thoughts) and then, once the date rolls around, let go all the excitment that you have been holding.

I had to start locking my wifes gifts in my gun safe, she has a sixth sense and she always stumbles into finding her gifts. Nice bz have fun with it.
