I misread your post, I thought you were talking about the caps being tight to the barrel. When I take mine apart I stick a flat ended file into one end and put it against the other end cap. Then while holding the CF tube I hit the file with a rubber mallet. I move the file around so I hit if on one side then the other. It usually takes 4 whacks to get it off.

Yup I used a wooden dowel with a piece of rubber on the tip so not to hurt anything,with a few taps the caps came right off

Added 3 rear-facing port holes to the endcap. Just had to be careful not to hit the o-rings. I have no way to measure any difference this makes to the sound in front of the marker (if any) but in theory it could have some small effect.

You could probably do a shooting video for comparison on sounds with porting and without porting
