007 piercing pin substitute

Seems like someone is always looking for a 007 pierce pin.
I am sure the are getting harder to find.I compared an original to a CCI pin noting the cup and the shoulder were very close.Without modifing the 007 valve there isn't enough room for an adapter so I modified the CCI pin(always mod the cheaper part first)
The CCI pin is about 1/16" shorter from the shoulder to the cup but there are just enough extra threads on the plunger screw to still have full thread engagement with the frame.

If it should ever break off a 5/64" allen wrench fits inside the valve, you used blue locktite right ?

EDIT - what's the spec on the grub screw you used?
I don't think I saw that detail in the post, other than it takes a 5/64" hex key.

That's not a freak insert it's just a brass lined barrel.

For what it's worth, if you don't have the means to do this mod yourself. Nelson is still selling the 007 pins.
