This is not paintball related, but perhaps it can be good inspiration for someone. I for example, thinking now about making own grips on my PGP with similar technique. The story behind is that I have received from my colleague in work cheap chinese kitchen knife for sharpening. It was such like knife: ![]() His handle was loose on the blade, so I dry to fix that. But the material was not solid how he looked from outside, and the pin was only imitation, so the handle was broken, when I was fully engaged in the repair work... with big hammer. ![]() But I have home scrap from PVC, bassicaly piece of trash from workshop of my employer. So, why do not dry repair the pathetic small knife? ![]() With handsaw/hacksaw I have made two nice squared pieces. With drill pres I have made two holes in them with the blade like pattern/template. ![]() ![]() Tightened with a screw, on disc sander I have modified them to rough blade silhouette. ![]() ![]() With cheap chineese Dremel and small wood milling-cutter (but the file set will make the same work) I have chamfered the edges and rough modified the shape. ![]() With grinding paper 800 I have smoothened the handle shape. ![]() And with grinding paper 1400 I have polished him. ![]() The new pins were made from small SS bars - bassically I made two pipes threaded inside, and tightened them on the handle with two countersunk screw with with internal hexagon. Nice, easy removable and surely a lot stronger than the original "pins". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The result is imho not bad - nice, small, unique knife. The handle has little larger width than it will be optimal, especially for small female hands, but because it is not knife for hard work it is imho not big problem. For cutting of the vegetables good enought.
