Radiusing Delrin Rod

Hey folks,

Contemplating entering the Pile o' Poo build-off using the cache of Hammer and Neslon-type pump parts I've amassed. Anyhow, there' one key part that I can't quite figure out how to do. Rather than being cutesy and coy I'll just say flat-out that this part is a trigger frame extension. It's going to sit between the actual trigger frame and the body of the marker and have its own sear that will be connected through some sort of linkage to the trigger's. I'm planning to use delrin because it's very easy to work with only hand tools, and I figured I'd make this extension from 1" rod to mirror the body.

This means that the rod will sit in the trigger frame without issue but it will need to be radiused on the top to accept the marker's body. Is there any conceivable way to do this with only a Dremel? I assume not, as it needs to be a big enough channel to accept a 1" diameter body, but maybe there's some Dremel-Fu I've yet to learn.

Dremel? No... way to high speed you will end up with molten delrin and burns on your hands.

Sander yes... 1 inch drum on a drill press.

That all being said.... 1 inch ball end mill for the win.

Don't quite have the space or cash for one - pretty sure that will put me above the $100 limit, lol.

I used a drill press.
Drilled a small hole in the delrin rod, screw a bolt in, placed the bolt in the chuck.
Spun the drillpress on low speed and used hand files to shape
Made several pieces for my pgp this way.

This but you probably don't have a mill or you wouldn't have asked.

Try this. Get a 1" rod/dowel whatever. With a marker and the dowel, mark the depth you need to go by tracing the outline of the dowel. Do this to both ends of the delrin to see if you're sanding evenly. Wrap 80 grit sandpaper/emery cloth around dowel and start sanding. Go to a higher grit when you get close for a smoother finish. It won't be perfect but it's do for your poo. Good luck dood.

Genius. Thanks!

And thanks to everyone else too! Our townhome doesn't have a garage (the one thing I wanted, lol), but next place, I think I definitely need a drill press.
