Common sense tells me to stay away from rusty pressure tanks. no matter how cheap it is, my life and limb is worth more than that.

They limit the amount of bandwidth your free subscription pictures can use, and then make the photo unviewable. Please use imgur.com or another free image host that does not ruin picture threads.

A littel bit of surface rust on a 9oz tank..

I would use them.

You ever see the rust on some of the supply tanks? these things get used in damp conditions all the time, and the only thing that keeps them from it is paint, which gets worn off in short order.

I believe you are mistaken. Chromoloy tanks have a limited lifespan of (iirc) 15 years. Even in perfect condition, and passing hydro, they can only be used for 15 years past date of manufacture.
Only aluminum tanks have an unlimited lifespan, and only aluminum tanks that fall under the 2x2 have unlimited lifespan without hydro.

plus, while the 2x2 rule may exempt the tank from hydro, it does NOT exempt it from visual inspection upon filling.

IE, if the tank looks like a peice of ****, don't fill it.

I learned the visual inspection thing the hard way... I had a tank start to separate from the valve while filling.... I turned the supply tank off and ran like hell.

I especially like the part:
Do they hold air?
-Yes, some of them still have co2 in them.
