Is it? Star Wars people go crazy for crap like this. I have a friend who can never afford to go out and do anything, but has a closet in his apartment stuffed with unopened Lord of the Rings and Star Wars action figures.

Hook, line, and sinker.

Can't be worse than the orange Dodge with the rebel flag painted on the roof that sold for just under 10 Million recently.

Christie's auctioned off many ( approx 1000 lots) Star Trek items last October.
Most of the stuff went for absurd ( imho) amounts of money.
There was a model of the Enterprise that sold for around $300 000.00.
A model of a Klingon Bird of Prey that sold for over $100K.
The above items were anticipated to sell for $8000-$12000.

In one episode, Pickard got a flute. It and its box sold for around $30K and was non functional. They anticipated $1200.

What does one do with these items?
- Recalling an episode of "Just Shoot Me".....

I saw that Star Trek auction on the history channel too.

The NCC1701 D from the next generation went for 500K. That would have been the one I'd go after. Just a bit to rich for my blood.

is that a scam? I was reading it and it refers to a "Zuckass blaster." sounds like a joke.

That's the item I wanted. You had to see the episode to understand why everyone wanted that flute.

Hey...people who like Star Trek have brains and good jobs.

Q: Hello I am curious why you are charging so much for shipping. The item mentioned obviously could wieght more than a few onces at best. I would think since you are getting so much money for it, you would at least pay for the shipping. I find that some of ebay sellers have become a bid greedy. How much is it going to hurt to fork out the difference. All the best Jun-02-07
A: As a Seller AND Buyer on eBay I'm with you the WHOLE WAY re. the current trend for some Sellers to JACK UP the handling fee, or charge an outrageous 'flat fees'. As I noted in a prev. Question, the high price being calculated here reflects the INSURANCE FEE that will be necessary for the shipment of the piece. As for paying the shipping fee outright, sorry that's not included in the final bid price -- I'll already be paying eBay a percentage for listing the auction.
...and they're STILL arguing over shipping! To me, that is the greatest part.

For the most part, I believe they have to be new in the box like most collectible toys to be worth anything. (which is why the dragons I have lack value other than they look nifty in my house!)

funny thing was, Patric Stewart himself was shocked at how much it went for and quipped about what their reaction will be when they find out it's not even a real flute.
