You can for short periods, like a couple months at a time or for a beginners noob gain period. People on gear can probably sustain it for quite a bit longer then that.

i figure ill work on the muscle first, and the weight second

besides, a guy with muscle thats a little overweight still looks better than a guy thats no muscle and overweight

sure you can. you cant gain muscle mass and loose weight, but gain strength very do able.

I finally understand what you mean by that lol.

Started running and doing cardio stuff only and was consistently dropping 2 pounds a week, minimum of 1 pound though.

Started doing 60/40 weightlifting/cardio and I think I may have "lost" 3 pounds in the past almost 5 weeks. No longer extremely sore the day or two after workouts (bit sore but, it's a feel good sore, not crippling pain).

Also burpies are the devil.


And for anyone bragging about having "strong legs" go do a few laps of walking lunges with or without weights. I can still do 700+ Lbs on the leg press at 10 reps and doing 1 lap of walking lunges with 20 pounds of extra weight just about killed me, my *** hurt for almost a week (shut-up Benoit )I guess doing a 50 minute cycle class the day before didn't help either.
