Read your owner's manual. For GM vehicles, power will be left on to your accessories and other powered features such as windows for 10 minutes. Then it automatically kills the power. In addition to this, as soon ad you open your car door, the circuit is broken and power is shut off and effectively preventing a battery drain.

You know for someone that is self described as behaving similar to someone with OCD, I'm surprised you haven't read the owner's manual to learn more about your car.

Hard wiring a switch or doing anything electrical with your car and being a novice at such things, rarely ends well. Too many times have I seen cars with electrical issues and find a rat's nest of wiring because some knucklehead thought they knew what they were doing.
