Man I have been wanting to get a beater 400/440 to build one of these out of one of my old twin shock KLX or KDX rollers

I got a lot done and it just needs a bit more to get running. (like a nights worth of work). But the tank needs a proper paint job, a few electrical tweaks, and I can hit the road with it.

Now with the Bonneville, I have lost my drive to finish this KZ440
Don't give up the ship. With the renewed interests in Cafe' Racers that finished build might just fund a few new acquisitions.

I'd love to ride up your neck of the woods and take the New England roads for a spin.....

My bike... 2014 Triumph. Still at the shop while it waits for a new gel seat to be installed, so that will look different soon enough.
Nice! I have a Bonnie as well. If you are anything like me, you'll probably want to improve it with some less restrictive mufflers to let more sound out.

I saw the title, and was very sorely tempted to post something of the equine variety until I saw "motorcycles" in the headline......

I rode mine to work today. My big CB900 has me spoiled with its smooth power, but this little KZ is a blast though I wouldn't want to do a long trip on it.

If you're ditching that particular project, could you tell me where you got that seat, or even better sell/trade me yours?

Attachment 45029

Bought the seat off of ebay and I bought it with the pan. Just used the existing hardware. I've looked but haven't seen them since. Not sure what the deal is there.

I keep saying I'll get rid of it, but I'll probably keep plugging away at it until it gets finished. If I get rid of the seat, I'll let you know!
