I'm left wondering when exactly she was put in the barn. It had to have been after Carl was shot and obviously before Shane hobbled Otis. So when exactly and why? Did Otis feel like it was retribution for shooting Carl? That's assuming he truly thought the Zeds could be cured of course.

Weird twist. Even though I expected it, I kept hoping they'd find her alive. Thought I knew really she didn't have very good odds at all given the period of time she was "missing".

I agree with you on that one Eric. Laurie needs to get 'offed', or to at least be taken down a notch. Perhaps a threesome with Rick and Shane "High-Fiving" over back.

I really thought that thet'd find Sophia alive. Having that poor little girl, who watched her father abuse her mother, and as the story implies molest her, and then having her get bitten and zombified, is in bad taste. Poor thing.

It did have a staggering effect on the group. It was easy for them to drop zombie after zombie when they were Herschel's neighbors and family and they didn't have any personal relationship with them, but when one of their own comes staggering out of the barn and they all fell on their knees, you could see the change.

I think the red-neck and Sophia's mother are going to hook up now, maybe open up the first post-apocalypitc meth lab. I hope they get Laurie hooked.

If they killed off the characters on TV at the rate the comic does they would not be able to hold an audience. They have had to make changes so that viewers who are NOT the typical graphic novel fan will buy into it. Television is a different animal. If you look at Rick in the comic vs. Rick in the show, I think to keep the character likeable and honourable they have shifted some of his demons to Shane: this leaves the television audience still enamoured with Rick but allows for the descent into madness/chaos that we watch unfold in the graphic-novels. I am personally all for it. As Bob T Guy once said to me "I stopped reading the comic because it became a 'how much **** can I pile on Rick' comic". Reading the graphic novels was tough if you began to like characters, which for TV-land is a necessity.

You realize the polls are rigged right? I realized that with the first show and stopped watching because of it. The poll was about looking for the kid.

When I voted there was something like 200k votes tallied already. I voted for "not at all" and had less than 1k voters agreeing with me. The majority of the voters were voting for "as long as it takes".

Then the air the "results" and it was something like 98% were for "not at all" and the hosts were laughing hysterically.

Was the rig funny? Yeah it was, but the show lost credibility to me.

I don't really see any reason why she had to be in there AFTER Carl was shot... They'd already been looking for her for at least a few days by the time Carl was shot, hadn't they? I'd have to re-watch an episode or two but I don't recall them actually mentioning Sophia being missing while Otis was alive, so if he was the only one responsible for the Zombie-wrangling, it's entirely possible no one else knew she was in there. Although, you'd think he would "talk shop" with the others on the farm and if he told one of them he'd brought a little girl zombie in that they'd have put two and two together after hearing about Sophia being missing...

The thing that bothers me though, is the likelihood of Sophia actually making it to Zed status. She was a weak, scared little girl against mostly adult, and fairly strong Zombies. I don't see it being all that likely that once a Zed had her within it's grasp and able to bite her that she'd have been able to get away without just being straight up devoured. And she appeared to be in fairly good condition when she walked out of the barn.
