Well crap. Was going to pick up the CB750 this afternoon but it turns out that the owner's son has decided he wants to keep it.

AS much as I like my triumph I don't see it returning to the road for a while. Its actually cheaper for me to run two pickup trucks at once (one of them a v8 s10) than insure the bike. Canadian insurance sucks. Got my m2 at the start of fall 2012. Policy ended up being $400 over what my broker quoted. And he didn't bother telling me.

I went to the Maryland Timonium Motorcycle show last weekend. Timonium Motorcycle Show | The Big One
Amazing show, awesome facility at the State fairgrounds. Made the New York Syracuse show look like it was ran by kindergarteners.
Back to -4 f back home in NNY this morning

'77 CB750. 100% stock and will stay that way. The original owner had a stroke in '04 and died, and this has sat ever since. He had the foresight to drain the carbs and gas tank. Runs great, just needs some tuning and loving. I dig the older Japanese bikes and I'm starting to outgrow my '81 KZ440.
This post needs more love. Gorgeous bike. One can never go wrong with a 70's Honda.

edit: just saw the followup. That sucks dude.

So I gotta know. Why does every guy selling a Harley on craigslist think it's worth at least $4000?

Um because they're catering to the normal Harley owner.

Apparently! I could see charging a premium if there was something special about a particular bike, but at the end of the day Harleys aren't really revolutionary enough to be collectors items. They're like Ford Mustangs post-fox body.

Because they're fashion accessories.

Decided to tear into my '83 XJ650 on Sunday. Gonna go through the carbs and get it all running again. Got a bunch of parts ordered from eBay.
