I love watches, just not this much

Only eight will exist. For $230,000 a piece. I like Cool pieces and this is definitely an exclusive little club, but man...That's pricey.

Here's the bit from technabob:

Quote:
The MB&F HM4 Final Edition Watch isn’t just any old watch, it’s a “horological machine” which has 311 components. It’s coated in plack PVD titanium and its design was inspired by the F-117 Nighthawk. The turbine-like pods for time and power reserve indicators are connected to the power reserve using unique vertical gear trains.
Cool....

I'll just stick to reading the Robb Report I do have to admit it's unbelievably clever.

House? Watch? House? Watch? Some things don't just seem to be 'worth' a certain cost. It's very cool looking and probably very well designed and built, but I don't think I could write that check even if I could afford it.

Yeah but is there a specific reason for it being tiny and sideways? Is it supposed to look like car gauges?

Im genuinely asking. The price aside i dont get it?

^Gauges of some sort, I would imagine.

That is one of the coolest looking timepieces I have ever seen, but the price tag is beyond ridiculous.

They're like Urwerk watches. Purely because they can, they will. Or if you can ask "Why?" the answer is "why not?"

I like the fact it's sideways like that. It's an aesthetic thing I suppose. Yes, they're going for the car gauge / jet design here. I like that too. Simple quirks and perks make it unique.

There was a jeweler I read up on earlier last year who made one-off pieces. Only one of each of his "industrial" inspired pieces. There was one I liked, it looked like a tiny gravity bomb. The center part was a cut away with some turbines in it and the bearings let it be sensitive enough that if you blow on it gently, they spin. Just neat pieces of design.

Price wise I relate it to the artistic level. Yup it tells time like any other piece but the watchmaker made it unique. Kind of like "why does Aston Martin charge you 100k for one of their vehicles?" because they can. You can take all the craftsmanship and labor and R&D and add that up but then the maker will determine the list price.

EDIT: here ya go keebler. it's the N*5 on the site MB and F

Hope that helps keebler. I like these things, just don't have the moneys Oh and there's another one on the site that had louvres and the gauges to somewhat match a muscle car. Good stuff
