if you're thinking of going the tech route get her a nice tablet and a BT keyboard from china (if you pay more than $15-20 for a Bt Keyboard you should be slapped). She's out of school and doesn't need a full fledged laptop and a tablet is much more versatile and casual. Also, if you get the right apps, it can be just as useful as a laptop for someone like her when she needs it to be so. Set it up and pre-load some of those apps for her as part of the gift too. I dont like to often say blanket things about either sex, but what ive learned with my wife is handing her a gift and then telling her she needs to do stuff to put it together/get it working is a no-go.

some of those essential apps:
dropbox (free)
documents to go ( $15 on app store and google play, a bit pricey but it works well with dropbox)
Photoshop express (free)
pandora (free)
attachements.me (for ipad since they wont let you attach docs in email, works with dropbox, free)
Adobe reader (free)

oh and marriage is awesome, don't listen to grumps up there (lol, j/k). I say this having had a fight last night btw.

Come by my place and ill fix up a dinner youll never forget! Gifts go a long way but showing love goes alot farther. Be considerate and thoughtful. No one would know better than you, because noone knows her personally.

I have found that its the little things that matter (yeah yeah thats what all guys say ). For future reference if you hear her say "I like that" or something along those lines take notes for future presents. I know my wifes favorite presents are the ones that I remember from earlier in the year, and some of that stuff only costs a few bucks . I know that didnt help you at all for her birthday but its something haha.

In all seriousness take her on a trip. Looking back now i have been with my partner for 6 years. Since we were 20. We have not taken ONE trip. Between school and work neither of us have had the time or money. That has always been a regret of mine. I would recommend a trip. And i mean like a real trip. Not driving a couple of hours to somewhere for the day. Like go on vacation for a few days if you can. The memories and pictures and stuff like that will mean a lot more.

If you have been with her four years and don't know enough about the things she likes to do something personal and creative, I probably would agree with gainman.
