Magazine preferences?

Looking to load up on 1911 magazines since I own "a few" of them. For whatever reason I never bothered to buy any extras, maybe because I don't really carry them... The only spare magazines I have are a pair of Wilson 10rd mags.

Anyhow I've been looking at the blued Springfield 1911/7rd ($12/ea) and the black Remington 1911/7rd ($20/ea). Now I've owned a Springfield but I don't remember the magazine being anything remarkable... Does anybody have any experience with these? Preference between the two? Option 3 that's good for under $30?

I hate bumpers and extended base pads - I'm looking to go traditional.

Wilson Combat makes the best 1911 mags, evar.

Wilson Combat 1911 Magazine | 7 Round .45 ACP | Full-Size-Wilson Combat

But traditional style? Colt!

Colt 1911 Government and Commander Magazine .45 ACP 7 Rounds Blue

You've haven't had any issues with them I take it? What are the followers made from?

I'm kinda leaning towards the Remington I know they're pricey but they look to have nicer followers and a better finish than the Colt or Springfield... I wish there was some way to testdrive magazines without buying them

Every 1911 I've ever owned (and that's a few) has used Wilson mags. Every. Single. One.

Also, any time I've had a mag issue or seen someone else who had a mag issue, a Wilson mag corrected it.

I have stock Colt 7 round mags and Kimber 8 round mags, both work great, though the Kimber mags are a little hard to load. But that's a non-issue.

That's quite a few positive reviews for the Colts, which are wicked cheap...

I take it nobody has used the Remingtons?

I've used the Remington mags that come with the 1911R1. Don't have much to say other than that they work I guess.

The Wilson Combat mags do get good reviews for a reason though.

LOL you pay for that quality though. I think I dropped $50/ea on my Wilson 10rds.

Would you say the finish quality of the Remingtons was especially nice? I've notices some plain/lowend 1911 magazines tend to have inconsistend finishes, rough/sharp edges, and weird dents from being stamped/assembled... Anything strike you as being off?
