Anyone make Bike Frames?

Just curious... I'm sort of poking around for a couple of new frames... One to build up a Track bike, and one for building up a Time Trial bike for the Triathlons I compete in.

Not looking for something over the top, as me loosing 10 lbs would be better than me trying to shave 10 grams off a frame right?

Anyhow... Figured I'd ask, as if I'm going to spend money, I might as well see if I can't keep it in the community somehow.

Frames or Full bikes...

Carter

Want an early-'90s Trek 2100 carbon-fiber bike? It looks pretty, but is too small for me.

It's, uh, "retro"!

you want something really cool, look into Fetish Cycles they build some very cool frames... top of the line and maybe more than you want to spend... but still very cool.

Otherwise I'm sure our resident bicycle builder will be able to help you out.

Well, I have a Trek carbon 5200 at home... And it's what I currently ride on the road. I have a Fuji track bike for track riding, and a Balance (1993?? eeek) Mountain Bike that I still love and can't part with.

I'm going to look into doing a minor cyclocross conversion to my Cannondale road bike if at all possible. The roads around here are crap and any pothole will eat the stock wheel/tire sets.... so sturdier full spoked wheels and a wider tire.. something in a 35mm+ if it will fit.

Carter come visit me at the shop some Sunday .

For tri's unless you can consistently do 30mph you do not need a TT bike the road bike will do with a set of aero bars if needed when you get more miles under your belt.

The guy who run the track in Londonderry get their bikes serviced at my shop. I haver a Lemond Filmore( IIRC 600) that is a great starter bike and you can still ride the road on it to train. Or I can get you any import or custom you want. The IF team (Independent Fabrication ) is sponsored by the shop we have great access to quick customs.

Call me tomorrow on my cell I'll be gluing up tires most of the day for the team.

I.F. makes damn fine frames. I have an Independent Fabrications Deluxe mtn bike I love. Best cycling investment I ever made besides a helmet.
