question about burning

I have a bunch of old wood that has paint on it. I was looking at burning it. Is it ok to burn painted wood or is it considered a hazard?

Yes, if it is lead paint. Lead paint gives off harmful fumes. Not sure about unleaded paint, but I'm guessing it would still be harmful.

If you are outside and don't plan on huffing the paint, I wouldn't worry.

You should remove the wood from the paint before burning it. Just scrape the paint into a pile, then light it. Red paint smells the best.

Burning outside shouldn't be a problem. Would be more worried if your area has a burn ban...check with your local Fire department

It is going to be outside but contained in a fire pit.

Looked at the title and thought this was going to be about gonorrhea. Disappointed.
