Hey guyz, I acquired a 2k4 BKO a few weeks ago and I was wondering if anyone has ever done a trayless mod to one, or if it's even possible.

i would say it is possible, but it takes a bit to do. the easiest is to find a T2 frame, as that will have the new tray and all the parts that you will need. next would be a cut down tray, with a DIY hose barb. you would need to remove the noid manifold, plumb the noid and basically redo the entire wiring and electronics(just placement and fit). now, i'm all in favor of ICD, but even a with a BKO, i wouldn't do it as its not a worthy project, IMO. but if you want to, go right ahead. follow the link in my Sig to head to ICDO. even though most of ICDO is on MCB, we have more info and can help a lot better on there. |

I know it's not worth it, most of my custom projects aren't worth it. But I certainly won't be getting much money if I just sell it, so...

I think I've seen pics of a BKOmaster (where they put a Promaster trigger frame on a BKO) I thought those looked pretty cool myself. Course, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to find a PM trigger frame than a T2 or T1 or whatnot. You'll have to spend some time with a dremel modifying the trigger frame and have the tools to to tap some holes where the mani used to be and mess around with the wiring. Can be done, it'll just take some tinkering. Definitely a project. Edit: Found a link to a pic of one Last edited by krupasjeans; 10-23-2011 at 11:09 PM. |

Shouldn't take too much tinkering if he goes with a PM ram, biggest thing will be getting the frame to work with the ASA, but if it's a 2k4, shouldn't be bad.

If you like the Defiants, you should head over to ICDO. We are raffling one off at then end of the month. (29th to be exact)

Ok, I changed my mind lol. While the Defiant would be better, I don't like the pressed feedneck. And the BKO would be much easier. And on that topic, the BKO's board is really big, but half of it doesn't have any circuitry on it. Would it be safe to cut the board down? And by safe I mean would it still function.

all ICD electro guns have threaded feednecks. it might look like a pressed fit, but they are threaded. yes, the board can be cut down. as long as you don't hit any of the traces, or circuts, everything will be fine. i can provide a picture of how far to cut, and can i interest you in a new harness? |
