Ok, I've seen it mentioned here and there but havent found a ton of info on it. I just picked up a Hammer today and was curious what this talk about using loctite on the cup seal is about? Is this something essential? I've only fired it in my back yard so far with no issues.

I actually noticed that there is locktite on the cup seal of the one I got a while back. They might've started doing it at the factory.

What I mean is, should I loctite it if it isn't already? Is it something thatll come loose if I don't?

Yes. Loctite it if it's not already done. It will negatively effect the performance.

quick idea I had tonight for a self releasing magazine. Not 100% sure it'd be possible, but basically it's a small spring behind the magazine follower pin, so that it can be pushed back into the body of the follower. have a mechanism with a slight angle to the bottom that would push the pin into the body when the magazine is inserted into the magwell.

Here's a quick picture:

Jog in mechanism is to get around screw boss. spring on the bottom to return it to the 'ready' position. Just load up the rounds to push the follower down and you'd be good to go. Follower is held down until insertion by one of the ribs in the magazine until the pin is pushed into the follower body.

haha. thanks guys. seems like it wouldn't be terrible to do, since it wouldn't require a lot of modification to the magazine. I might try it this weekend. Figure if it doesn't work I'll just fill the holes in and be good to go.
