Al Ray: I have an adjustable tank reg, and my xmag has a built in reg. I have 3 scuba tanks to keep the air going.

Surestick: I am using an xmag. I thought about using different guns, but believe that the gun only provides air. The barrel should be the only thing affecting the paintball. I am going to track the velocity/efficency of the barrels.

PJ: you are correct. there is probally another half dozen to a dozen that are not shown. My white board could not hold any more.

Frontier_Bill: That pic was taken after measuring the internal diameter of all the barrels. believe me after doing that twice i needed more than one miller.

two four: I will have pics, and hopefully complete video of the test.

z50: I will post data after I crunch it, and determine the best way to present it. Ill post some in a min.

This kind of seems like Mythbusters for paintball.

Cudos to you! That is a ton of barrels! I am looking forward to the results! When is this test going to happen?

I was just thinking, do you think you will see a real difference in the accuracy at 60 feet? I would think you need to go out a little further...if you start launching balls and performance of the different barrels does not vary, this may be food for thought.

Well paint to bore match is going to negate any which barrel is best. 100 is the minimum I would consider a real test, per barrel or insert. Remember size, seams, fill, (weight) relative roundness, temp, and humidity, all have to be accounted for and must be factored in. Basically you can not test barrels or paint like you would with firearms, because there are to many variables in a paintball. Barrel selection is purely subjective to the paint you have at hand at the time of use. Variables will change from day to day, week to week, month to month etc. Now for the other variables gun spec ( blue print spec or QC spec) barrels also have variances and tolerance issues too multiples of each will somewhat negate spikes in the data, and alignment of the bore to breach to tip.

HPA supply is going also the be crucial what is the low end threshold planned on for delivery? Are the tanks going to be used individually or in series if individually flow will have to be accounted for unless you add another reg in the system.

Are you doing these tests in a controlled setting (indoors) to prevent the wind from affecting your results?
