the kit comes with some really good electrical tape to use for masking the area - more than enough, IMO.

Hm.
I've had to restore the lights on my S14.5 twice.
Never used a kit though- just a progressive wetsand of 600-2000 grit followed by toothpaste, then mothers mag.
I wonder how important the final UV sealant thing is. I've just always used the Plexus spray I have for my goggles.

nearly a year later and I have found that once you polish the headlights - even with applying the UV protectant - they fade much faster.

So I bought whole new assemblies. ~$85 shipped for the set from amazon.com, and they even came with new bulbs!

Yup, you get about 6 months before they start to look not new. Just give them a once over whenever you wash the car. That way they stay looking new.

One thing to note about replacement headlights, some of them have horrible beam patterns compared to oem. Just be careful of that.
