funny,
Bud Orr originally took a pump gun and stuck Glenn Palmer's pneumatics on it and called it the AUTOCOCKER.

seems we have come full circle.

Phantoms aren't that expensive. You can pick them up pretty cheap if you're willing to search for a good deal.

Of course now I'll have to drop another $50 for a CCM frame and maybe, just maybe, another $179 for a Duckslide.

Phantom's are very high-quality and versitile. You get the color and setup you want.

Personally, I just don't care for the on-barrel pump. Awkward for me. And the pump stroke isn't as nice as classic brass.

My first real pump was a Maverick. I didn't like the feel of it (back bottle with right feed hopper), and I didn't much like the side mounted pump arms. but the big problem was that is just wasn't very accurate. Hitting anything was more luck than skill.

I personally have found my phantom to be much more consistent.

Although, I bet C5TEK has a different opinion. He was shoot pretty straight with HPA on his this past Saturday (Not sure exactly what model it was, but he took me out a couple times when there wasn't much to hit.

Yes... Mike is a pretty grand dude. Talked to him on the phone for awhile when I was ordering my Phanyom. Great guy.

quality and the ability to have any setup you want. Don't get me wrong, theres plenty of other good quality pumps out there, but i really like my phantom. Also the detent rings are pretty cool! air effiecincy on phantoms is pretty decent too.

Wevo's undercocking solved my dislike for the wraparound pump. It makes it feel natural (under the barrel like a sheridan but phantom performance). Take a look into it if you have the chance, it's well worth it IMO, changes the feel of the gun a lot.

It's probably the only gun to never take a crap on me besides user error the first few times I touched it. Flawless reliability and performance. If you want a great gun for backup or performance, look no further.

The only thing I dont like too much is the feel of the pump stroke. Undercocking or not, the certified click click of the sheridan pump stroke is something I enjoy in contrast to the funny springy phantom pump.

My lapcos have a much different pump action than the phantom and they feel better than all the sheridans i have owned too.

I dont know what it is, the phantom pump stroke feels dry and well machined or something, as if the company owner used to make dentistry supplies.

Phantoms are excellent guns, i recommend them to anyone. I recommend a direct feed and constant air model though.

No pump gun needs an effing back block, thats all i can say.
