The wire detent? Its the detent system before they switched to the current rubber ones. Basically a screw holds a wire with a curve at the end which acts as the detent.

They only really work on flat sided bodies...so when any company wants to mill the body, they had to lose that detent.

I wish more guns used them. My friends S5 still has the original wire detent and it hasn't worn down even after hundreds of cases.

It is a good question - if you don't get something - always post up. I love wire nubbings - but have to admit - the rubber nubbin system on the Series 6 and up is too elegant.
