I'd suggest checking out the B/S/T forums over on PB nation, E-Bay, or even putting up a WTB (wanted to buy) listing here on MCB for an Autococker Trilogy SF (select Fire). The marker is reliable, the frame is decent enough as far as low-cost electro markers go, and it allows you to upgrade your performance better without having to purchase a whole other marker should you want to tweak the performance just a bit.

There are plenty of Smart Parts haters around - but the ION can now be had for under $175. I've got one - shoots great.

As long as you're not looking for top-of-the-line tourney performance, this'll do you. I'm assuming from your price point that you're just looking for a step up for recreational ball - maybe some scenario?

Has anyone shot the new WGP electro? the MG-7? that's another option for about $200.

Also, look at the ICD Promaster and Freestyle. The price has dropped on both of them.

The Proto SLG just dropped to 199$. Havent tried it myself, but it seems like a very nice electro, and it certainly would have been my choice for a sub 200, still in production electro.

If you can expand beyond the Trilogy or Protium, I have to second the ICD Promaster & Freestyle. Just won a Lasoya (yeah, he's a jerk, but the gun has all the upgrades straight out of the box that most add-on to a regular Promaster) for $153 shipped.

Of course, the all important question is: What do you run? CO2 or HPA?

Well, no more Freestyles. Maybe. I just called Xtremez (paintball online) and they had 1 more in stock, and that was the one in their showroom.

Bought it...

So unless they have another stock I'm not aware of, them's gone.

To be honest, used guns aren't bad. They're already broken in, cost less than new, and in some cases are dirt cheap if the prior owner has no clue how to fix a minor problem. Case in point - I picked up a "broken" A-5 last year for something like $45. Just needed an o-ring to fix the problem.

Spyder VS1 is a pretty popular choice. Can handle either type of gas, e-frame, and has eyes. As upgradable as any Spyder. $140 at the link below, or I'm sure you can find them floating around on other sites or ebay. That should leave you a little extra cash, which I recommend you spend on a clamping feedneck and a barrel (J&J Ceramics are good 'n' cheap).
