| Post Whore Join Date: Mar 2007 | I have to say that JT cleats are the best thing I've ever used as well. Light, works well on any surface (except astroturf), good support and I appreciate the lace cover. So far proving very durable.

| MCB Member | I wear 8" Rothco black tactical boots. Had 'em for a little over 3 years now, and love 'em. However, they're getting worn (you can hardly tell that they used to be black...they look totally tan with some black now due to sand and dirt). I'm going to be getting myself a solid pair of Original SWAT boots soon, though. I only play in boots mainly for ankle support and protection. When running about on the field where one could easilly slip or misstep (even in an indoor field), ankle support helps seriously protect you from twisted and sprained ankles. That's more important to me than traction. However, there are some boots made to handle slick or slicker-than-normal surfaces that also handle other terrain great. I'll take those over cleats. Cleats could get snagged in the ground (since they're actually gripping it) and you misstep and go another way, and your ankles suffer. No thanks. Also, when playing outdoors, especially in the desert, a good high tactical boot with a tough leather upper provides some good initial defense against snakes should you stumble across one and not get away fast enough to avoid the bite. Same with defense against cactus, scorpions, etc. that will go for the ankle/foot region first if they strike.

| Seasoned Member | I wear us army jungle boots, don't play much in the winter time, but I have worn my Kamack snow boots to play last winter in 18 inches of snow, lol. Didn't have to move fast because noone else was. I wear the jungle boots so if it is wet they will drain. wool socks help to keep the feet warm even if wet. edm

| MCB Member Join Date: Sep 2006 | I don't care for the weight of hiking/military 8"+ boots. Here in SoCal it's usually dry and dusty for the majority of the year, so for woodsball I've always liked the traction & support hightop football cleats have given me. As soon as I switched over to a mid-top baseball cleat, I twisted my ankle & then my knee. |

| MCB Member | It's dry and dusty majority of the year here in Phoenix as well. Still, I won't wear anything less than police/military 8" (or MAYBE 6") boots. Once you do some sliding around and see what your leg could've gotten stabbed with if it hadn't been for those nice high boot uppers, then you'll get used to the "weight" of those boots REAL fast. I know they're not light, but I've been wearing those boots for 4 years now (made a mathmatical error in my last post....I got the boots for Christmas in 2003.....which was Christmas of my sophmore year of college) and I don't notice the weight any longer. I'm just glad for the protection.

| Rec Poster Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Columbia SC | I wear football coaches' turf cleats...they don't dig in as much as regular cleats, have great traction still, and they're fairly light as well..but I mainly play speedball. As others have already said, it's whatever you feel most comfortable with..my dad plays in hiking boots...so whatever, just don't get hurt |
