| Newbie Join Date: Jul 2008 | Ever been to NJ Paintball Club in West Milford, NJ I'm planning a bachelor party and thought about bringing a bunch of the guys paintballing. This place is closeby and seems pretty good from reviews I read online. But who knows who wrote those reviews? The place is called NJ Paintball Club in West Milford, NJ. Most of the guys playing will be new to the sport. If you've been there let me know if you thought it was any good. Thanks. |

| Why am I here...? | From just random research, it seems expensive there and the reviews (what's left from pbreview, last review was 2006) don't seem all that great. You'll always get one dissatisfied person no matter what, but the overall consensus from the reviews there don't give me a good vibe. Quote:

Both offer rentals, techs, food, all the things you will need. | I Hate This City. Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: New Jersey | There are, to the best of my knowledge, three other fields in West Milford: ABC, Paintball Depot, and E-Jam. ABC - Dirt cheap. Something like 20 bucks for play and all day air. CO2 is $5/fill. One woods field, one "speedball" field. Avoid this place like the plague. It's falling apart and the owner is, shall we say, "rude." Oddly, the reffing staff is friendly and attentive, however. E-Jam - Several woodsball fields, one (last time I check) airball field. Decent reffing. $35 entry with all day air/CO2. BYOP, although paint is sold on site as well. Recently (in the last month or so) acquired by "New Breed." Haven't been then since the purchase, but word on the street is that it's only gotten better. Prices listed are, to the best of my knowledge, the New Breed prices (it was $33 for entry with air/CO2 when it was E-Jam.) Overall? Pretty good for a casual day on a budget. Several of the ERSA teams play from here, and are good guys overall. Paintball Depot - I can't speak to this one, as the prices have discouraged me from going. None of 'em are EMR or Topgun, but E-Jam (or New Breed now) is where I'd go for a day to just have a good time without breaking the bank. If you're planning an event, however, I'd second the Topgun suggestion. It's top notch in all respects.

| Nerd | I got a chance to play there about...a couple years ago, I guess it was, maybe a little longer. Sometime the summer before last, in any matter. Anyway, I had a good time, but I really didn't like it that much. Paint was waaaaay too expensive. Like well over $100 per case, if I recall correctly. That, and most of the refs were just unfriendly. Kept everything safe, but it always felt like you were being yelled at for something you didn't do wrong. One or two were pleasant, though, and being older, they were really on top of things, and didn't let players push them around, like you see with younger refs sometimes. Nice fields, though. They have a "town" kind of field, and a bunch of very nice woods courses. But the big thing I took out of it was a feeling that they didn't really care how well they treated customers, almost didn't want return business. As for the other fields in the neighborhood, VVulfe hit the nail on the head, but I'll just add that Depot is a nice middle ground between NJ Paintball Club and Ejam (now New Breed). Price I think might be a bit less for entry than either, but more for paint than New Breed (it is unfortunately FPO), but they have some very nice fields (as long as it didn't rain the day before, in which case the lower fields are swamps). Good refs, too, although younger the last few times I was there, so take that into consideration. Edit: Thanks Express. Last edited by Diomedes; 07-26-2008 at 12:07 AM.. |

| Just Another Guy | Welcome to the boards. If you decide to go with E-Jam, I have a connection there. I didn't realize that it was relatively close to you. -Keith (hajkowski@aol.com)
