Practice your aim (obviously). I find it much more difficult to hit a target when I can't shoulder a marker with a bottlomline or backbottle setup. I can hit just about anything with my Automag or 2k cocker but I can't hit **** with my TPX.

Practice, practice, practice.

Practice reloading for an hour or so while watching TV. CO2's as well.

Other than that, MOVE. Getting close won't hurt either. Go for center-of-mass shots, headshots are cool and all, but inconsistent.

Don't forget to rock when you cock.

Be prepared to get your *** kicked for a few games. Playing pump takes some getting used to.

Like somebody else mentioned: Use your sights and aim!

For a number of years I played with a modified Nel-Spot, Duck, or a Carter Comp as my only guns so I got a good idea of what you'll be dealing with.

Since you're not playing with a bulk loader and you'll have to deal with the limited number of shots a 12g can provide (compared to a tank) you'll be facing certain limitations. Basically it comes down to making every shot count.

Don't worry about holding a lane, or other high ROF tactics. 'Cause that won't be your strength. Take advantage of the freedom a pistol provides. You'll be light and more mobile so tactics like crawling (over/under/around objects) will be much easier. Ditto for snap shooting & jack-in-the-box shots.

Think more "ninja" and less "machine gunner" + AIM and I feel like you'll be playing to the strengths of pistol p-balling.

I'm jealous. I think you're gonna have a great time.

That's probably the best advice I've seen thus far.

Playing pistol isn't easy. Playing PUMP pistol is even more difficult. It takes time to figure out how to read situations and get an understanding of what you should and should not attempt out there. So keep trying different things and don't let getting whooped discourage you. Just analyze every failure to see where you went wrong, and correct it. If you can stick with it, it will make you a much better player not only with the pistol, but with other markers if you choose to go that route later on.

Basically I'd say expect general un-fun at first. It will be a pain to reloader 12ies when you know you dont really HAVE to, it will be a pain to use 10 round tubes when you dont HAVE to.

So dont CHOOSE to switch to constant air, 12ies and 10rd tubes will become natural to you if you keep it up.
