I'm going to polish her too so more labor than parts will be done, I like to make stick feed, but tubular metal isn't my forte. Might leave her stock class but some mods are needed. Maybe I'll polish a barrel.
I use my local Mom & Pop hardware store and their spring section. Get an outside diameter and length reading and then it boils down to wire size which seems to equate to tension strength. I don't know how it is in Pittsburgh, but in Virginia you can find the springs between painters pants and bird seed. Should be right next to the mailbox selection.

Tao Of Kow

Instead of blowing up this forum with updates on my futile attempts at marker repair, I started a YouTube Channel for folks to follow along on the progress. You should be able to search the TAO OF KOW and I invite you to subscribe to follow along with the build. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

Sorry guys, I sold the thumper. I do not have the time I once had to work on markers.

I do still have three paintball guns in the stable to play, but having a tinker's marker didn't last long. I got it to work and sold it.

However I'll come out and play stock class pump or stick feed automag with yinz.

Hello Fellow Tinker People

April 19th is 6 weeks away.

If you are receiving this email, you are or have expressed interest in this contest. Please read over the rules and be familiar with them. We can still have more contestants added until the morning of April 19th.

Between now and April 19th, please prepare a brief "portfolio", i.e. written documentation that explains what was wrong with your marker and what you had to do to make it function and purr like a kitten. You need to provide BEFORE and AFTER pictures at the very least. Black and white photos are acceptable. You need to do this to prove that you have restored your "****ty" marker. This documentation is part of your presentation and will allow you to begin PART 2 of the Gauntlet.

As most of you know, it has been agreed upon by most of the people involved that the prizes should be something that promotes the idea of tinkering on markers. With that in mind, the prizes will go to 1st, 2nd, and possibly 3rd place. (still trying to locate a prize for 3rd place though).

At the moment, I know for sure that there are 4 contestants that have finished their marker restoration.

April 19th will be a regular play at Clymer, Pa with the exception of the Gauntlet games being mixed into the plays.

We need regular players to come out for this contest as they will be an integral part of the Gauntlet. Bring friends to the game. We are also having a cookout for that day and contributions are welcome. The last time we had a big game at Clymer, we had 70 people there.

Questions? Please ask.

One of my students is looking for a model 98 trigger ***'y and sear. It has to be for the model 98 though. This is the only thing he needs to complete his build (as far a I know). Does anyone have a set to spare?
