PMI Traccer woes

I've been trying to help my friend fix his PMI traccer, and i seem to be stumped.
Basically the problem is that the gun won't cock when pumped. i took the gun apart and found that the problem was that the hammer wasn't latching to the bolt when the pump is pulled back. The bold simply doesn't move back far enough to become attached.

Any ideas? Could the gun be missing a part, a spacer or a spring maybe?

I get the feeling that i'm missing something completely stupid or that it's a real common problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

First question: Was the gun fully gassed up? Nelsons usually won't cock without the additional pressure behind the valve.

Like he said, gas it up.

Do you have the adjustable bolt in there, if so back it out a few turns(counter-clockwise)

If you dont know what thr adjustable bolt is, take the barrel and pump off and look at the bolt. If you see a hexagon lookingtube in it(brass i think), its adjustable. Find the right sized hex key and try and rotate it.

Also make sure there are no spacers between the bolt and hammer, they could be causing the problem.

Yeah, I once messed up an adjustable bolt by wayyy overturning it. Gassed-up or not, the bolt would never catch the sear again.

That said, what's the condition of his sear?

Thanks for the replies.

Well, you probably found my stupid mistake: no gas. I'll have to get a fill and test it out.

I took the bolt out and it didn't look like it was adjustable, just a single piece of black plastic. As for the sear, it looked fine to me, not too much wear.

Thanks for the help guys. Is there anyplace that still sells parts for these guns?

I love my trracer, it will last your friend forever if its taken care of.

If your friend can track one down get the adjustable bolt, it is a life saver. Also though barrels are harder to find for trracers, JJ Performance still makes/stocks the ceramics for them, its a nice upgrade.
