The last time I was paying attention, about 8 hours to go from ~1800 to just over 3k, I think. Just over, as in, when it's been sitting for a little while it is right at 3k. I don't typically pay too much attention to fill times, as long as it can fill a tank within the week it's good enough for me. As long as you fill it ahead of time you will be fine. Don't wait til the night of. I typically fill mine up when I get home.

For the price of the 97cu ft bottle you can buy multiple scuba tanks and fill adapters. The only real plus to the carbon fiber tank over an aluminum bottle is the lighter weight.

When I get down to the last one, go fill up the other 3...and never run out. With just 2 tanks I find myself waiting until the last one runs below 2200 to make the run. A 97cuft 5000psi scba could/would allow for a few additional top off fills to 3000-4000psi... but that doesn't mean much for our little outlaw group... topping off to 2500 once or twice a day really isn't that big of a deal.

I am a diver, so I have five full tanks sitting in my garage at all times. When I used to play outlaw regularly with a small group the five tanks would do us well for a our or five hours of play. Three of my tanks are standard 80, but I have compact 80, and a compact 100. All are filled to 3000 psi.

update: I checked w/ my local dive shop and they dont / wont fill scba. "too much risk involved". I also checked w/ the local welding gas supply shop and they quit stocking / carrying 5000psi nitrogen. soooo... I'm back to scuba.

We have a local guy that built a launcher for nerfs that was based on a scba which was back pack mounted.... the user made for an easy target as the thing was so damn heavy to lug around that the person was always running so slllllooooooowwwwwwly. E |
