Smart parts is at it again...

taken from Vegard over on pbn

Smart Parts today announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against AJ Intermediate Holdings LLC and AJ Acquisition I, LLC, doing business as Kee Action Sports. The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in the Tyler Division. The suit alleges infringement of seven patents that Smart Parts believes are being infringed by Kee. The seven patents are generally directed to electropneumatically operated paintball markers and barrels for paintball markers.

"Smart Parts has invested considerable resources in the development of advanced paintball markers and accessories," said William Gardner, Jr., Smart Parts' President and co-founder. "We value our intellectual property highly, and have filed this case to protect our products, our market, and our many licensees," Gardner said.

One day, before the apocalypse, the fall of paintball, we shall band together and fight the legion known as Smart Parts.

Seriously, everytime Smart parts sues someone, I get the idea that the apocalypse of paintball comes closer and in the final battle, we fight those creepo animated paintball robots from the Smart Parts Epiphany advertising video using our delicious Palmers Brass, Tippmanns and Mags and markers of companies that have contributed positively to paintball.

You know that scene in Fight Club, where Tyler jumps the owner of the bar, and spits blood all in his face? Yea...Id love to do that to the people at Smart Parts who get the bright ideas sue people like this. Only, replace "spit blood", with "spread fecal matter".

Guess Ill have to buy an Invert Mini before they go the way of the Vikings and Excals...

well this is problably because SP and procaps (draxxus) are close, and kee just sued draxxus over the pulse loader

so most likely they will reach a compromise and drop both lawsuits

Dude, thats retarded. The invert mini is a completely different opperating system than any of SP guns, and if anyone should be going after empire for their revolver kit. its powerlyte. powerlyte is the only other company with a front loading compression barrel system.I am a huge fan of SP guns, but this is a rediculous (sp?) claim. NPS had every right to sue draxxus over the pulse, cause they came out with a type of RF chip on their empire b loaders. Yet another black mark on the Smart Part's name.

Oh Lord... here we go again. Everyone please form a single line if you are here for the Smart Parts piñata . It is a big company and everyone will get a swing.

Did everyone get verbal when the Tippmann family split? Or did I just miss the whole protecting patents issue with them because it was done in such a civil manner?
