But were they a Pro team? I think that the whole reason for mentioning Dynasty, and specifically Alex Fraige, is to mention a Pro team that shot mid price range markers, instead of high price markers, for a season.

If we wanted to go that route, what about the Miami Rage second tier team that shot their own Alias based markers when Bob was on the Gen 4 or Gen 5 markers?

When Kee called and asked how the AXE was selling,I recommended they get it into the hands of a pro team playing events, to get it noticed more. they said "we took pictures with Dynasty holding it" I said no get it in the game so its noticed. I'm glad I am not the only one who made that recommendation.
I think the Mini/AXE is one of the most underrated markers out.

I shot a mini for a few months last year and it was a pretty smooth gun. There were a lot of things that went wrong with it (always had a small leak from somewhere in the gun) other than a couple of problems it was a smooth gun. I can see how an improved version with some nice features would definitely be a good gun for pro teams.

Question: If Kee had released the Axe with a $900 price tag, all else being the same, would anyone have batted an eye when the sponsorship announcement was made?

No, but they probably would have a tough time selling markers at that price. It's not exotic looking enough IMO to get people's attention after looking at a $900 price tag. It seems to be an introverted workhorse that can still blow your doors off.

Over on TechPb there are quite a few responses on how XSV will not be doing well because of this decision.

Funny, I remember when pros were using minis when they first came out. Or when tons of pro teams were using the shocker.

XSV has been down for a few years now, regardless of the gun.

So much wrong information on one page.

Don't think XSV was paid that highly for this deal. This isn't the climate or the team from a couple years ago.

Dynasty never shot Ions, much less for a season or two.

No pros ever shot Minis for more than photoshoots.

Alex never played with an Epiphany. You guys are thinking of Angel.

Clarification: Rage's D2 team shot Alias guns. Not the pros.

Ultimate was a Pro team when they tried playing with cockers and again with Epiphany.

I had a mini a couple of years ago and I did like the marker but I found it to be hard on paint (breaking paint) and not overly efficient. Is the Axe better in these two areas?
