| Unharshed Mellow | PSP Pump Division for 2012
"I heard back from PSP, and they would really like to have Pump as part of PSP events next season. Official announcement in the near future, but PSP will offer a Pump division at all 2012 PSP events. Rough summary: - Sunday Play Only - RaceTo-2 5-man - $500 entry fee - Pick-Up Team Eligible: You will be able to sign up as a single player up through the night before the event and we'll put you on a team with other singles, so you don't even need a full team to participate. PSP will want 5 teams to pay before the 1st deadline to guarantee they run the division - shouldn't be a problem since people can start planning now. PSP is concerned about trying to have just one field without spectator participation, but will move the spectator sideline back further so the impact will be even more minimal than it currently is..." - Chris" Original thread TF |

I love the idea of the bigger "professional" leagues running pump divisions. For me the reality is that with my time and money availability and skill level/desire to compete, I've gotta stick with the smaller local leagues like Gravity League and possibly NEPL. If time and money work out I might make one of these but I'm surely not doing the whole circuit.

Why don't we put in an MCB team from folks on the site. I might know a guy from the site that can "sponsor" the event, so that the event is paid for. If we can get people who are local, or those that also want to travel, to show up and play, all they have to do is pay for paint and their way there. Something to think about. Think we could pull it off? I.E., find enough (5 people) locals from the site who would be willing to play in the event?

i think Painthappy's idea is great. this way we could actually show support to the leagues that gives us pump play. i suck at paintball but i would play just for the fun of it Last edited by YoroSaru; 12-15-2011 at 05:49 PM. |

I have to give credit to the PSP for stepping up to the plate. I also like how the relatively cheap entry and pick-up team option gives it a grass roots, play for fun rather than the high stakes tourney feeling. In my opinion, this is what pump play is about.

Like I said if I can make money and time work I'll give one a shot. These are the two listed. PSP Galveston Island, Galveston Island Paintball, March 9 – 11, 2012 PSP Phoenix Open, University of Phoenix Glendale Sports Complex, April 20 – 22, 2012
