I asked Dave and he told me they would be carrying it, I hope that hasn't changed!

Looking forward to seeing one in person & seeing if there is any difference in velocity between reg paint & FS rounds. When I tried to use both in a T9, there was 30 fps difference so they weren't interchangeable.

isnt there always a difference no matter which gun is shooting the two.

It's my understanding that some small bore rifled barrels can reduce the velocity of the FS round enough to get a close enough match between the types of rounds.

EDIT: The Lapco STR8Shot, for example, claims that "...the .686 bore is just the right size to slow down the First Strike round a little bit so that the chronograph reading is closer to that of regular paintball." (source)

Wouldn't that also really depend on the size of the regular paint you're shooting?

I think the velocity issues depend more on the regular paint than the FS. FS are, for the most part, pretty consistently sized. Paint still varies anywhere from .686 to .670 judging by what I've seen posted elsewhere on MCB.

We will be carrying the Hammer 7 as soon as it becomes available. We may have some as early as the end of next week (but I'm not going to hold my breath....)

If the rifling is tight enough to touch the fs round than you probably don't want to use it will regular paint. In my opinion no they are not interchangeable. I have been against the concept that you could quickly switch from fs rounds to standard on the fly from the beginning. I don't agree with it. You'd either have to pick one or the other or settle for sub standard performance with both. I think the concept of all on the fly systems is just silly.

Actually they are just fine interchangeable. there is nothing wrong with chrono'ing your marker at 290+ FPS with FSRs, and then shooting regular paint at 260 FPS. I've done it with my Retro no problem, it was effective and accurate with both types of ammo without re-chrono-ing.
