Some poor kid is gonna buy that pack and throw it on full auto with only that 90gm(?) co2 as an air source, and be done with having fun for the day in about 10 seconds.

Also, "E-icon"? Horrible name.

Are you certain of this or just speculating on the outward appearance?
There are a number of important design differences between this and the Gryphon (Feedneck style and position, barrel thread unit, foregrip/body mounting, flat vs curved grip frame mounting, etc). Given KEE/Ben Tipppmann's track record of taking ideas from Summit Tippmann (and vice versa) I would expect that no licensing is taking place here, particularly given that KEE continues to manufacture its own line of inline blowback guns that share common differences from their Summit Tippmann rivals.

Nope.
The Raptor uses Elite lenses.

There's always going to be a need for inexpensive entry-level equipment, and this one certainly fits the bill.

...and not to be confused with the Icon-E.

On a side note, one of our former members here, Alpha434, came up with the clear trigger as a status light idea. I saw it a few years back on one of his markers and wanted one. He said he couldn't make me one because he sold the rights to it. Cool to see that it finally made it to market.

that's HIS idea? sounds too counter intuitive to be his. why would you want the whole field to know your gun broke?

*sigh* yet another low end POS blowback that will probably break inside the first few uses and sour the player on our sport. Also why in hell does Rich Telford keep endorsing low end junk? I know he's sponsored by JT and such but good lord it makes him look like a total tool to be putting his good name behind something that's just pure trash. Oh well I guess this is the kind of thing we can expect from KEE for the most part now that Simon is gone.

I believe that Alpha434 sold Kee the glowing trigger interface back in 2012.
