1) Buy League.
2) Shut it down...
3)???
4) Make money!

I'm guessing #3 is "try like hell not to run out of money while we come up with the plan that we should have made before #1"

Not exactly shocked. I loved the NPPL when it was rolling along, but as the years went on, they put too much focus in the wrong areas (my opinion), and didn't listen to the players concerns. We're the ones paying, and when we're getting ignored (seemingly), then why should we keep going and paying?

I could go on and on, especially about their changes and rules with the press and charging them. But I think the story speaks for itself. They're shut down.

I just read that HK Army was taking over the Huntington beach event. I had hoped that my eyes were failing. I can already here the dub step. Good Lord.

Time to come up with an 'Olympic' format to occupy my time this year

You know what, as much as I'm not a fan of their fanboy following, I met a bunch of the HK guys at a small local scenario last year and they were actually really nice people. Mark (Mr. H) was the opposing general and showed a lot of class and sportsmanship. So as much as I don't like the cult of personality surrounding them if they really were taking over the event it wouldn't bother me.

The original concept was sound: We all jumped in willingly.
What we found was that a certain small group of people would dictate what the teams/players would do, what they would call themselves, what they would wear, who they would talk to etc. Micromanagement to the enth degree.
After the first two years it became clear to me: The NPPL was a business, a few people were making money. My money. I either had to suck up to the small group and perhaps a little gravy would come my way, perhaps not. But, don't complain that you were being marginalized, or you were definitely NOT going have any gravy come your way. It didn't matter how much money YOU put in, NOTHING was going to come back to you. Everything depended on how well you sucked up to "The Man".

I hope that the NPPL version 2.0 fares better. I hope that it's actions and mission statement reflects the second word in it's title. "Professional"
The first version was dictated by GREED and a myopic dream.
