Hobbes- I am not entirely sure what I should be looking at in this picture. If it is meant as a street capture, then the people are out of focus. I like the pyramid looking thing ![]() Sunrise over the beach. I played around with a long exposure for it. For those that are curious the exif data is as follows. Exposure Time- 25 seconds F-Stop-18 Iso-100 Two ND filters stacked along with a polarizing filter. |

8/10, I like the colours and the smoothness of the clouds and water, but the horizon seems just barely not level, and I think the bottom of the shot is just a little too underexposed. ![]() EDIT: (@shadow) yea, that bothers me a bit too, but at the time that I took it I didn't really notice it as much. Once I got back and pulled up the image on a real monitor, then I noticed it and wished I had just moved myself left a bit before taking that shot. Oh well, still learning .

Not sure what to rate this. I suppose it would be on the lower half of the scale. I see what you were going for, but the flower to the center/right (the out of focus one) just jumps out and almost completely draws my eyes to it no matter how I look at it. I like something about this pic. Not sure if the border adds or detracts from the pic just yet, but I am liking it right now. I am going to say 9/10 ![]() Eastport, Maine: Fleet Week 2012 by skalski772, on Flickr |

Something I've found with extension tubes is that your DOF is reduced a LOT. Use a tripod and I think your focus will be much better. I like the composition of the shot, but the focus isn't as sharp as it could've been. 7/10. ![]() This was just a test shot I did for my portable studio lighting kit. I've been working on a setup that I can carry for portrait shoots and it's slowly getting there. Last edited by Kermit; 07-23-2012 at 11:27 AM. |

8/10 I like the lighting, is there a bump or something above the illuminated eye? Here is another shot from my VPL tourney this last week I think i saved this one from facebook......hence the quality I will find the file tonight on my comp and put it up.
