HD hero3 is a huge step ahead of the HD hero2.
People are going to love these cameras, we will offer 3 models.
White edition, Silver edition, Black edition.
All three models will have WI-FI built into them, they all share the same form factor which is the same rectangular shape but MUCH thinner then the
HD1 and HD2.
The HD3 + wifi back pac, is the same size as the HD2 with out remote.
All three models will be shipped with the new housing, which incorpates an underwater lens and improved locking latch.
The camera has to work as well above water as it does under.
We did have to go with the Mirco SD format as the SD card tray is too big to accomodate.

-12mp photo burst (30shots in 1 sec) (plus many more burst settings where you can control how many shots in the burst and how long it lasts)
-WIFI built in remote control included (79.95 by its self)
-Advance features: protune, white balance, continuous photo, picture in video
-improved housing(new latch and dive lens)

Yea I've been waiting for it to be released so I can get it for myself around Christmas time. Any word on if there still is a 90 degree lens setting to film in?

[edit] whoa...it has 4k res video in the Black version. Albeit at 15 fps, but still...will that even be useful with a tiny *** m12 lens?

Anyone have any diving experience with these? Would like to see some example pics taken. Have seen a video done in a low visibility area which turned out ok. Just want to see some to compare with a Sealife camera.

I appreciate that, Massdestruction, but I am specifically looking for a dive camera. So comparing it above the surface probably will not provide with what I am looking at. The problem with cameras and diving is colors tend to fade away at depth so you need a filter of some sort on your lens in order to truly capture the colors of a reef. So I was looking for a comparison between the GoPro and another dive camera.

For those who don't know what 4k res is...fullscreen this and switch resolution to "original"



I really do wonder what this GoPro's 1080p footage will look like, since it sounds like it'll have a massive bitrate processing upgrade. My HD Hero 1 is complete bunk at 1080, no real point going to it over 720 unless it's a static shot.
