It will be when it comes out, a few things will cost actual money but they will be cosmetic/vanity items like mech paint jobs and so forth. Nothing that confers any in game advantage. If you've ever heard of league of legends, it's the same type of purchasing structure.

If they want to target that much armour, let them come :P

| Post Whore | thats the spirit! ![]() I always let anyone come after me when i used atlas or madcat, if they didnt then well their base was done for XD same way in chromehounds, Id make the biggest and brightest hounds just to make sure people saw me, needless to say they never lasted long unless they were snipers. |

Haha, right on! I always found it was too easy to target the cockpit on a mad cat with lasers though. The atlas is a bit tricky as you have to get that small eye socket. I likely won't be running an assault in this iteration though, it seems they're trying to make light mechs have a larger impact in games (which is great for me, a chimera with 1 PPC can only do so much)

IMO: Kodiak > Atlas Stone Rhino > 12x Atlas Sadly I'll probably have to wait a good while for my favorite clan mechs to be introduced to MWonline

Been too long since I've played to think of any designs off the top of my head, but I do remembering surprising the hell out of a lot of opponents by having 80-tonners with jump jets (I seem to remember that was the heaviest 'mech class where JJ's made sense, and anything heavier just didn't use them well). Had one game where in movement phase the guy had me completely surrounded by little "nibblers" (35-tonners with 1 ER PPC, nasty at short range since they had no minimum range negative), and I just jumped my 80-tonner out of the midst of them, destroyed 3 outright from rear armor shots during the next firing phase. He figured he had me trapped since it was such a heavy 'mech. What was the stock IS 80-ton with JJ's? I wanna say it was the Victor? Bloody gov't network, can't check the BT wiki... *feh*

I know the clans had the Mad Cat/Timber Wolf Mk 2 which was a 90 tonne with jump jets but it wasn't introduced until 3066, and quite frankly I'm not interested in waiting that long for a jump jet assault mech. There was also the Phoenix Hawk 2 which was a melee focused mech, but for the time being I don't think we'll be seeing melee mechs in game. Then there's the Canis which seems to be a very heavily armed assault mech with jump jets, but it lacks any missile pods. ER lasers and AC's only. It's also very slow at 54 KM/H.
